Creation of an Investor Due-Diligence Handbook for NN Bank its 3rd party Mortgage Distribution Business

What you are going to do

The Asset Finance department within NN Bank is seeking an intern to create a Due-Diligence Handbook covering key areas of our mortgage business. The handbook will serve as a comprehensive guide for potential investors and internal stakeholders, highlighting the operational and financial processes essential to our organization. This is a unique opportunity for a student to gain in-depth knowledge of NN Bank while contributing directly to our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Business Overview:

  • Provide a detailed description of the company’s history, mission, organizational structure, and role in the mortgage market
  • Highlight the key objectives and differentiators of the business

Develop Pricing and Product Development Overview:

  • Research and document how mortgage products are priced, as well as the development lifecycle of mortgage offerings
  • Analyze pricing strategies, key cost components, and market positioning

Develop Servicing Processes Overview:

  • Outline the servicing processes, including customer support, payment collection, and loan administration

Develop Credit Risk Management Business Overview:

  • Investigate the organization’s policies and procedures for managing credit risk
  • Describe risk assessment frameworks, delinquency monitoring processes, and mitigation strategies

Analyze Performance Data of the Mortgage Portfolio:

  • Collect and analyze key performance metrics such as default rates, portfolio growth, and returns
  • Develop visualizations (e.g., charts, tables) to represent performance trends for stakeholders

Collaborate with Teams:

  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Credit Risk, Servicing) to gather insights and data for the handbook
  • Conduct interviews with subject matter experts across departments to validate findings

Compile the Due-Diligence Handbook:

  • Structure the handbook to be clear, professional, and accessible to internal and external stakeholders
  • Present a finalized version of the handbook at the completion of the internship

During your internship you will have the following:

Who you are

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent written communication skills, with attention to structure and clarity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with data visualization tools is a plus
  • Enthusiasm for learning about the mortgage industry and applying academic knowledge in a professional context
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects
