What you will do as Airport Utility Engineer

As a site-wide Airport Utility engineer, you will be part of the airport asset design team and will participate in multidisciplinary projects on new and existing airports around the globe. You will be responsible for the design, development, and coordination of all site-wide utilities, including but not limited to the sewage system, potable water system, firefighting network, aviation fuel distribution system, central cooling network, power distribution network, and communication systems. You will work closely with the different utility specialists and other discipline leads such as civil design leads and buildings / architecture leads. You will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle from inception phase, concept design up to detailed design.

The focus of this role includes defining utility concepts for the preparation of airport utility plans and designs, designing various airport utility systems throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, coordinating and collaborating with various utility experts and built environment disciplines, and supporting the utility lead in various departmental initiatives.

This role is integral to a variety of international airport projects. Previously, we have worked on airport utility projects for London Heathrow, New Mexico City, and Abu Dhabi airports. In this position, you will be involved in similar projects.

What you bring

We are seeking an individual who will excel in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team environment. You should be proactive, driven, possess an analytical mindset, and be eager to collaborate with us to deliver the best products for our clients. Additionally, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in utility planning and/or engineering for urban or industrial environments. Airport experience is a plus.
  • The ability to prepare reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for utility piping ducting and cable networks / MEP outside plant networks.
  • Coordination skills to work with project managers, architects, airport planners, and other engineers to integrate utility systems into overall project designs.
  • Experience with design programs such as Revit, C3D, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, with affinity for airports and the aviation sector being a plus.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for work.

You will be based in The Hague area (new office in Delft from January 2025), the Netherlands, from which we run our aviation business.
