Purpose of Role

An exciting opportunity has been made available for proven Key Account Executive to join our growing Under Armour commercial sales team. This role is to work with our Global Strategic Account, The JD Group, specifically managing the EMEA JD Sports business and will be based in the UK.

We are looking for a person with a proven track record in Key Account Management, ideally within the Sports Industry. You will be required to work cross functionally with UA product, merchandising, marketing, operations, and planning teams, as well as managing multiple account buyers and merchandisers. Your responsibility will be to drive sustainable, yet ambitious, revenue growth in the JD Sports business across multiple categories. Understanding the needs of the JD Sports customer is an important aspect of the role. Experience of working across multiple categories including Mens, Women’s, Youth Apparel, Accessories and Footwear is desirable. You will be open minded, self-motivated and a team player, have excellent communication skills with strong stakeholder management abilities.

Your Impact

  • Responsible for managing the category buying relationship with JD Sports retail wholesale partner and delivering first class service.
  • Responsible for delivering multi category strategic account plans supported by senior management, ensuring that Under Armour is positioned to deliver growth.
  • Oversee end-to-end sales process (e.g., sell-in, sell-out, assortment selection, excellent in-season orderbook management and identify additional stock opportunities / replenishment)
  • Analyze sell through data throughout the season and take responsibility for profitability success.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to help inform and drive strategy and future opportunities.
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management
  • Pro-actively communicate business results to line manager and be solution orientated to achieve objectives
  • Prepare and conduct sales presentations of products and seasonal sales performance
  • Understand the intersection between the Under Armour and JD Sports target consumer to optimize brand positioning in the market
  • Understand Under Armour overall business unit and category objectives, strategies, segmentation and differentiation policy
  • Develop assortment proposals to deliver against the distribution objectives/development of destination categories
  • Strong knowledge and passion of the Sport and the Sports Industry (customer profiles, competitors and market trends) - frequent retail market walks
  • Work closely together with Account Customer Service team to ensure orderbook conversion
  • Follow company policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned
  • Practice honesty and integrity at every touch point between Under Armour teammates and account teams

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3 years’ of experience working as a Key Account Executive or comparable role in a forward order wholesale business, with a proven track record of high achievements
  • Experience of working in a B2B environment, managing quarterly go to market business processes with internal and external teams
  • Experience of working with product and design teams to drive account relevant assortment (SMU input)
  • Working within strict deadlines and able to be adaptive to changes.
  • comfortable in a fast-paced and ever-changing business environment.

Workplace Location

  • Location: Hybrid working in Under Armour office at JD Sports, Bury (North West UK) and working remotely from home. No relocation package available.
  • Return to Work Designation: This individual must be willing to travel to the UA office (Bury) a minimum of 2 x per week.
  • Travel: There will be some expectation to travel to the Under Armour Amsterdam Office at times during the seasonal GTM process and occasional EMEA market trips: ~20%
