We Are Denim Heads.

We love denim. Live and breathe it. It’s in our DNA. At G-Star, we see no limit to what denim can do. We believe it can be force of progress and innovation for both people and planet. How? By hiring the most creative, curious and caring minds. People who think beyond fashion. Bringing big ideas to big challenges. Driven by possibility. Those who work hard, make mistakes, but always continue to grow.

Denim is in our DNA, our people are our stitching.

Join the denim heads making raw denim.

NOTE: You need to have work authorization/study permit in The Netherlands – no immigration support is available for internships.

Here’s what we’ll do together:

In this internship, you will experience what it means to work in a HR team and support hiring managers in the recruitment process all over the world, from our international headquarter in Amsterdam.

The daily tasks of the recruitment intern include updating our recruitment system with new requisitions, ensuring that job specifications are properly written and formatted, screening of candidate profiles and coordination of various recruitment activities, i.e. interviews.

At G-Star, you will get the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that is leading in denim innovation and sustainability!

Your tasks & responsibilities:

  • Updating new recruitment assignments into various systems and databases, ensuring that new requisitions are directly processed and visible to relevant HR team members.
  • Keep the total recruitment overview up-to-date.
  • Stay in contact with universities and external agencies to find the perfect candidates/students.
  • Reviewing, updating and formatting job profiles following our internal standards.
  • Uploading job specifications into our recruitment system.
  • Publishing job advertisements on internal and external job boards and social media.
  • Screening of incoming applications for various positions across the business and creating a selection of candidates to be assessed further / interviewed.
  • Scheduling and joining virtual/ personal interviews between managers and candidates.
  • Organizing relevant forms and documents to be complete and correspond to company standards.
  • Leading G-Star’s internship recruitment and intern community & events.
  • Supporting employee onboarding processes and arrangements.

Here's what you bring to the table:

  • You have strong affinity and ambition for talent acquisition and employer branding. Within your study, you have started to develop a picture of how to best attract and match the right candidates for an organization.
  • You are a pro-active, energetic and driven intern who wants to learn by doing.
  • You have experience with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • You are interested in new recruitment trends (gamification, AI).
  • First experience with ATS Systems is a plus – if not, you will learn!
  • You are able to start in August 2024 for a period of 5 to 6 months.
  • You are pursuing a Bachelor/Master in a Human Resources related education.
  • You are enrolled at a university or college in the Netherlands or Europe, during the whole length of the internship.
  • If you are a non-EU student, you are in possession of a mandatory internship assignment from your university or college.
  • You are already living in the Netherlands and are in the possession of a BSN (Burger Service Number), or in a process of getting one.
  • Preferably, you are interested in Retail, Fashion or the Lifestyle Industry.

Finally, if you have a strong personality and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, we’d love to meet you!

What we bring to the table:

Next to a compensation of €600 per month for your internship, working at G-Star brings so many perks and exciting opportunities, we don’t know where to begin… How about:

  • An awesome and diverse team that collaborates to inspire
  • A work environment that offers room for fun, inspiration and innovation
  • A clothing budget of €400 to buy the latest G-Star items!
  • To keep up the greatness we also offer you a healthy, fresh, and delicious lunch in our HQ in Amsterdam.
  • If you don’t have an OV student travel card, we will cover your travel expenses.
  • You will also enjoy two paid days of leave per month!

Here's what will happen next:

During this job application, we will ask you to play a couple of short neuroscientific games. These games provide you with the opportunity to showcase your potential, talents, and personality.

  • As a result, we can ensure equal opportunities for everyone who applies, by evaluating everyone based on objective, scientifically proven insights rather than gut feeling.
  • As we value personal growth and transparency, we will make sure you receive your results on the games as well.
  • When we hopefully find what we are looking for, we will get in touch with you and if it’s a good fit, we’ll plan our first interview.
  • When we’re ready to commit to each other, we’ll finalize the terms we’ve discussed and we’ll explain to you how to order your first pair of jeans from the G-Star employee store.

Good luck!
