Innovation intern at Nestlé Garden Gourmet, this is your challenge

Vegetarian & vegan food is hot. For various reasons, more and more people are actively reducing their meat consumption. This brings opportunities, both for the planet and for responsible entrepreneurship! For over 30 years, Garden Gourmet has been discovering, developing and producing tasty, plant-based products based on wheat, soya and vegetables: meat substitutes. For many years, a large part of Albert Heijn’s meat substitute shelf in the Netherlands consists of Garden Gourmet products, and we have expanded the range of products to other retailers as well!

In addition to the Netherlands, the products are also available all over Europe; in Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden and other countries. We are the European market leader with different competitors in each country. The market is growing explosively – so every effort is being made to maintain and further expand our position

From the Nestlé head office in Amstelveen, The Netherlands we provide various countries with knowledge, expertise, data and assets to drive local growth. You will be fully involved in the commercial, international team to properly support both existing and new products and to promote the Garden Gourmet brand. An interesting and challenging internship with excellent guidance for a duration of 6 months, in a team with a no-nonsense mentality. You will get to know FMCG, the food category and you will get to know your way within the Nestlé multinational environment in an entrepreneurial category.

Starting the 1st of August 2024, we are looking for a new Innovation intern. Do you like the challenge of working in a fast-growing category, have passion for the food industry and want to make a difference? Then we are looking for you!

As the Innovation intern, you support the innovation team and have the following responsibilities:

- Participate and have personal responsibility within various cross-functional projects;

- Support daily activities, like market/desk research, competition analyses, trends, gathering new insights and propose opportunities;

- Support and help with increasing knowledge on sustainability & nutrition;

- Create an innovation community, bringing colleagues from different countries together to get inspired and take innovation further;

- Contribute to the execution of the innovation roadmap and project scoping;

- Keeping the Garden Gourmet products portfolio up to date;

- Organize and analyze sample-tastings;

- Make an active contribution in brainstorming sessions.

What we are looking for in our Innovation intern:

You adapt easily to new situations and ways of working. You look for solutions and can work independently from others. In addition, you are action and result driven. If you see opportunities, you like to take the initiative and act immediately. You are able to separate main and side issues and you are able to assimilate new knowledge quickly. You like to work carefully and neatly and pay attention to detail in the execution of daily tasks. Next to this, you know how to get a message across in different ways, depending on the target group and relations. In addition, we are looking for:

- HBO/WO student;

- Excellent knowledge of the English language verbally and in writing;

- Someone who is openminded, eager to learn & develop further;

- Affinity with all aspects of business, product innovation and food.

This vacancy offers more than just a challenge:

- A full-time internship (40 hours a week) for 5-6 months;

- 10 vacation days (based on a 6-month internship);

- An internship allowance of € 500 a month (based on a full-time workweek);

- Good food, good life activities, such as daily free fruits and vegetables, and a healthy varied range of foods in our restaurant;

- Reimbursement of travel costs;

- A work laptop;

- A Nestlé Internship Training Plan specifically created for your development;

- Pleasant working environment.

Besides hard work and lots of learning, Nestlé also offers a social side to the internship! Due to the open and informal atmosphere in the office, there is always room for fun, a coffee break, playing sports together and enjoying other fun activities. In addition, there is a close-knit intern community at Nestlé who participate in events such as a Q&A with the CEO, a pub quiz, drinks together and more!

Respect is at the heart of Nestlé's culture, of which room for differences is an important part. Differences between people who buy our products and in our workplace. We believe it is important that everyone feels welcome and safe at Nestlé. We are convinced that diversity leads to more creativity and innovation and moves our organization forward. That is why we actively work to create a culture and leadership that offers equal opportunities for all!
