As Colour Development Specialist you will develop colour recipes and processes for new colours for R&D, manufacturing and new product purposes. You will carry out colour development or improvement in accordance with guidelines and agreements regarding HSE and legislation and regulations within the framework of sustainability and social responsibility. The team of Colour Specialists consists of 3 employees. The entire R&D team consists of 13 employees.


Research, Develop and innovate

  • Ensure implementation of the technical product portfolio based on motivated research and realization questions from Product, Manufacturing, Sales, Design and Sourcing;
  • Drafting, creating ideas and project proposals (PPC), among other things by conducting (preliminary) research, searching for suppliers and materials, conducting trials and testing and drafting initial product specifications;
  • Carrying out feasibility and implementation/release colour recipes/processes up to the moment of production release. This in collaboration with engineers from the Quality Control (QC) and continues improvement and manufacturing improvement teams;
  • Translating customer requirement in the field of product and process into improvements in raw materials, dyes, recipes, and processes;
  • Research into state-of-the-art and scientific developments in the field of colour and colour management;
  • Carrying out improvement and renewal projects and activities;
  • Understand customer feedback and complaints (internal and external stakeholders) and translate them into proposals for development/improvement;
  • Supporting colour development for new product development and new technology process;
  • Participating in development projects and leading small-scale projects within the group;
  • Reporting and advising stakeholders/internal customer.

Information management and sharing knowledge

  • Building up the necessary colour related knowledge: combining general textile, dye knowledge and colour theory with organization-specific processes and recipes. Documenting this knowledge;
  • Understandable and structured transfer and sharing of knowledge, ideas and results to clients and (internal) customers in improving and renewing raw materials, products and processes;
  • Securing and transferring knowledge in the field of colour, colour development, quality, innovations in product and process to other stakeholders. Collaborate with other departments on activities and projects to work towards a common result.


  • Professional education (HBO/University) or equivalent work and thinking level in the field of colour technology, colour management, Dye chemistry, Inks etc.;
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Project management;
  • Software for measuring and analysis equipment;
  • Knowledge of working conditions, health and environmental aspects;
  • Good communication skills in English, Dutch proficiency is a big plus.
