As a Barclays Infrastructure Engineer Permissions, you will help in accelerating a new digital platform capability, transforming and modernising our digital estate to build a market-leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart. What will you be doing?

Contributing to the design, build and enablement of a centralised secure, scalable and performant Permissions platform


Inputting and contributing to the technical roadmap for the evolution of the group wide Permissions platform


Engaging with senior engineers to design and build a resilient platform, following proven and robust practices


Ensuring the highest levels of platform security and compliance are adhered to


Providing feedback and action activities to mature and improve operations and processes within the team and more broadly across the function


Demonstrating hands-on engineering-led innovation and implementations to both the team and the wider tech community


Working closely with partners across the bank and contributing to digital journeys innovation using the platform’s Permissions capabilities, demonstrating inner source culture

What we’re looking for:

Cloud and on-premises based infrastructure experience, virtual machines, containerisation (Kubernetes). gateways, VPCs, automated deployment scripts


Foundational working knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering, automation, observability, incident management, resilience, disaster recovery, high availability, documentation


Experience of high-volume transaction systems, load balanced applications, distributed application implementation


Knowledge of automated script based deployment and configuration

Skills that will help you in the role:

Experience of AWS Solution Architecture or DevOps Engineer


Experience in MS Azure: Solution Architect, Cybersecurity Architect


Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform) and Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)


Understanding of CI/CD: GitLab, Jenkins, Chef, Git
