About the Development Team

The Development Team is part of the Innovations Department, responsible for developing conceptual ideas into tangible products and (virtual) services to serve our clients’ needs. Within the Development Team, a total of 18 engineers are involved, divided over Virtual Tech (VT), Motion Control, Structural and (Mechanical) Design sub-teams. The Jr. VT Developer is part of the Virtual Tech sub-team and is working closely together with internal clients, such as our training academy (creating training in simulated environment), our Marketing team (creating promo videos and images) and Innovations teams (to test concept designs inside Unity). In this role, you will collaborate with a senior VR Developer and report to the Team Lead VT.

Your role as Jr. VT Developer

In this role, you will drive the creation of digital twins and VR training simulations, particularly for the Ampelmann Operating Simulator. Your key responsibilities include making effective use of Unity to transform concepts and needs from different departments into engaging virtual experiences. This role offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the development of cutting-edge virtual reality solutions and work together with your team on innovative projects that impact our business and meet the diverse needs of our organization. In your team, you will collaborate with a senior VT Developer and report to the Team Lead.

Regular activities

  • Engage with various departments to interpret their needs and convert them into digital twins.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of upcoming updates and applications.
  • Utilize Unity to produce videos and images for marketing or training objectives.
  • Apply creative solutions within Unity to address challenges effectively.
  • Maintain transparent communication with internal clients, keeping them informed about project progress and gathering feedback for improvement.

We ask

  • MBO or HBO education level, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar, and/or 1-3 years of proven work experience. Having a portfolio to demonstrate knowledge and experience is a plus.
  • Holding certificates -or be proficient- in Unity development (1 year), including (scripting (C#) and) asset integration.
  • Holding certificate -or have strong understanding- of VR technologies and best practices.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into functional Virtual experiences.
  • Having experience with 3D modeling and animation is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written.
