About the Role

As our Financial Controller you will join our team based in Amsterdam and be at the forefront of our financial operations, overseeing day-to-day activities and managing diverse accounting functions. As a key player in our financial landscape, you'll deliver accurate and insightful financial reports, empowering the executive team with the critical information needed for strategic decision-making.

This is a full-time (40 hours) position and reports directly to our Global Finance Leader located in the US!

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements, including tax filings, audits, and VAT.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget, monitor financial performance, and provide regular financial reports and analysis to the executive team.
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the company's financial stability and sustainability.
  • Manage cash flow and provide weekly cash flow reports.
  • Optimize working capital to support ongoing operations and growth.
  • Collaborate with the executive team and contribute to executing strategic plans.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders and auditors, to support the financial needs of the company.
  • Reconcile financial records regularly, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all financial transactions and reporting.
  • Manage budgets effectively, overseeing the allocation of resources and expenditures to align with the company's financial goals.
  • Contribute to the month-end close process, collaborating with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, such as preventing duplicate invoice entries, by working closely with the Accounts Payable (AP) team.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on financial controls within the company, ensuring compliance with established procedures.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (RC or RA preferred).
  • Proven experience in a financial role, 3-5 years accounting/financial analysis experience required.
  • Familiarity with standard GAAP concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting.
  • Proficient in financial software and knowledge of MS Excel, Power BI, Word, Teams and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English & Dutch, is required.
