As a Business Controller, you are part of the Business Control Non Financial Risk team and responsible for first-line risk management for ABN AMRO Asset Based Finance (ABF). You have an interest in all topics related to operational risks and you are familiar with the following concepts and processes: Control Framework, REM, IMAT, MC&T, Root Cause Analysis, Operational loss, Near Missess... . You will have an advisory role to the MT ABF. Your responsibility is to have oversight on operational risk topics for the 1st LoD and to create and maintain ongoing dialogue and close collaboration with the 2nd LoD I&ORM . In doing so, you will work closely with your colleagues from Business Control, the commercial organisation, 2nd and 3rd line parties and other stakeholders within and outside ABF.
As a Business Controller, you are jointly responsible for shaping an effective and efficient 'first line of defence' for ABF within the 'three lines of defence' model in the field of operational risk. Within ABF, based on your expertise, you advise the business on operational risks, weaknesses in internal controls and related quality improvements in reports and documentation in accordance with statutory frameworks and requirements, and regulatory guidelines. You optimise the reliability of models and reports, and you shore up the control framework. You support the business by providing advice on those matters. Furthermore you support the part of the business in your area of attention by designing, monitoring, implementation and securing the1st line of defence. Within your area of attention, you have knowledge of risk and processes, the risk (model) framework of the bank. In addition, interacting with the various stakeholders, being ABF departments, Commercial Banking and second- and third-line parties (I&ORM, SIM and Audit.....), is part of the daily work. Futhermore, coordinating investigations and following up on results is an important part of the task package.
You are sometimes an expert, sometimes a helpline, sometimes a booster, connecting people with each other, but always the eyes and ears of the MT ABF regarding opreational risks. All with the aim of adequately managing compliance matters in order to monitor and further improve ABF's reputation inside and outside the bank. In doing so, you take into account customer interests and risks for the bank, aimed at optimising the performance of the ABF organisation.
ABF is active in Germany, Great Britain, France and the Netherlands, Your place of employment is Beneluxlaan in Utrecht. Once a week, the whole team meets in the Utrecht offices and works on site. Naturally, we are open to the new way of working which allows you to work at other locations and times within arrangements. You are part of the Business Control Non Financial Risk team, which consists of about 7 Non Financial Risk Officers. Together with them, you create the atmosphere! You will report to the Director of Business Control.
