Do you have a strong background in international corporate tax and are you specialized in tax compliance and tax accounting for operations on several continents? The Kiwa head office based in Rijswijk is looking for a Tax Accounting & Compliance manager to strengthen the team. He/she will be part of the Kiwa tax team consisting of 4 tax professionals and will report to the Kiwa Head of Tax. The main responsibilities and tasks include:

Tax accounting & reporting

  • Manage Kiwa’s Pillar II implementation process, including the set-up of a new set of tax accounting records for all Kiwa legal entities;
  • Manage Kiwa’s Tax reporting process by setting up a new periodic (bottom-up and top-down) reporting process that is aligned with Kiwa’s and SHV’s finance reporting processes;
  • Prepare the tax accounting and reporting positions of the Dutch Kiwa entities and align with the internal stakeholders;
  • Liaise global tax accounting topics with auditor;
  • Review the booking of tax entries and tax schedules at local entity level;
  • Manage local BU Finance managers in ensuring proper booking of tax entries at entity level, including training on tax treatment under accounting rules and the use of internal tax reporting packages;
  • Assure that consolidated financial statement tax balances (current and deferred) are correct and complete;
  • Preparation of the consolidated financial statement disclosures regarding tax balances (current and deferred);
  • Prepare a consolidated effective tax rate reconciliation (i.e. compare with previous periods and forecasting), tax cash rate and tax balances and prepare a periodic Tax Report;
  • Review the tax component in the budget and forecasting process; and
  • Advise and instruct Kiwa’s accounting community and other relevant stakeholders on the financial statement impact associated with various tax laws.

Tax compliance

  • Prepare the Country-by-country Report(CbCR) of Kiwa in cooperation with the Kiwa Consolidation & Reporting team and SHV, including setting-up the future Public Country-by-country reporting process;
  • Implement a Pillar 2 compliance process within Kiwa;
  • Prepare the corporate income tax return of the Dutch Kiwa entities included in the fiscal unity to which Kiwa belongs;
  • Improve the tax compliance process of the Dutch fiscal unity to ensure timely and correct filing; and
  • Prepare the corporate income tax returns of standalone Kiwa corporate legal entities.

Tax data & technology

  • Provide support in Kiwa’s Pillar II project regarding the implementation of new tax technology/ tools;
  • Set up of regular (automated) ETR calculations;
  • Being involved in the set-up and maintenance of all tax related data reported in Onestream; and
  • Drive the usage of IT tools in order to gain better visibility into tax relevant activities and transactions.

  • The preferred candidate has a Bachelor or Master degree in Tax Law or Fiscal Economics (hbo or wo) and 7-10 years relevant international corporate tax experience, preferably including several years of experience in a similar inhouse position within an international company. You are specialized in tax compliance and tax accounting (IFRS) and have an interest in expanding tax technology solutions;
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written, fluent in business English); and
  • Commercial awareness and customer orientation with a pro-active mindset
  • Open, down to earth and hands-on personality with energy and a high level of drive to successfully deliver;
  • Team player with an enthusiastic approach;
  • Ability to constantly (re) prioritise and get things done (“own the ‘end-to-end’ process”);
  • Strive for simplification and clarity and focus on value-adding activities;
  • Skilled in developing and extending a network of internal and external contacts;
  • Enjoys responsibility, delivers on promises, acts decisively and is loyal to decisions; and
