What will you be doing?

Your job as a Day Shift Service Desk Engineer working for the first line SD_EU-APAC is a challenging one, as you will play a pivotal role balancing the needs of customers, technical specialists and the responsible contract manager. Your prime responsibility in this job involves registering issues, be it Incidents, Service Requests, Problems or Changes. You take charge in complex problem-solving sessions, where you will play a facilitating role between technical experts & business stakeholders.

Your communication skills are vitally important. You ensure that your calls are dealt with correctly; you set priorities and decide whether follow-up actions are needed (such as additional maintenance) and initiate such actions.

While working this dynamic customer environment, you will also be looking for process improvement opportunities, where you can implement lessons learned directly from the business.

  • A completed course of study in which you were able to demonstrate that your intellectual ability is that of an average graduate (equivalent of Dutch HBO)

  • You take end-to-end responsibility for the Service Desk process and, in so doing, you focus strongly on results
  • You are a sharp, analytical thinker
  • You are familiar with ITIL methods
  • You have a good mastery of Dutch and English

About the team

The Service Deployment Group is responsible for developing and implementing ‘Life Cycle Services’ for our systems all over the world. As a first line Service Desk Front Officer, you will be a member of the first line International Service Desk team in the Service Operations department. Service Operations is internationally responsible for operational (service) implementation in our market segments Airports, Warehousing and Parcel, and comprises 180 colleagues worldwide.

The first line Service Desk is the first point of contact for all our customers, which means that quality and customer satisfaction are our main focus. This is where incidents are recorded and analyzed and solutions are found. The team has end-to-end responsibility for producing these solutions. This makes the first line Service Desk a dynamic, varied place to work, in which you will work alongside a five-shift (24/7) rotate in operation. As a Service Desk Front Officer, you will work regular office hours.
