As a Cost Engineer, you work towards a common goal: contributing to a winning bid that leads to an optimal solution for our international customer. You achieve this by working closely with the sales team and being in regular contact with your colleagues from Supply Chain, Production and Finance. Through your feeling for figures and data, you will recognise patterns in cost price calculations, enabling you to develop into an expert and use this knowledge in follow-up projects. In addition, your technical insight helps you translate a technical concept into a feasible cost price. We aim to continuously improve our working methods through automation and the use of building blocks. You have the freedom to develop and maintain these.

Due to the many projects you are working on simultaneously, you can expect a lot of dynamics in your daily work. Think of the following: calculating the cost price of machines by providing insight into the individual components (material) and hours for programming, assembling and optimising the process (hours). In addition, you will think along with the cost factors of complete production lines and indicate what is needed to make a correct cost price. In our international playing field, you also have regular contact with colleagues from foreign branches.

As Cost Engineer, you also contribute to our internal process, including purchasing and (resource) planning. Moreover, you actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the process by participating in the feedback loop. This is crucial to maintain a keen insight into actual costs as a sales team. You also provide insight into cost trends, both in the market and internally.

This will be your day

8:00You start the day with a stand-up. Here you list the projects you worked on yesterday, and discuss today's tasks and challenges. Armed with a cup of coffee (or tea), you get to work.10:30Your fellow Concept Engineer has come up with a concept that you will spar over together. He then hands it over to you so that you can use your extensive knowledge to further detail the costs.13:00You've had a lovely walk on the edge of the Veluwe and meanwhile your break is over.15:00Today you have something special in your agenda: your colleague is giving a short workshop on Visual Components. As a Cost Engineer, you don't deal with this software directly, but it's nice to be involved. After all, you are a team.16:30The day flies by.The day flies by. You walk out with your colleague and look back on a great day with nice successes.
