Description of the assignment:
As a Spare Parts Logistics department one of the options we offer to our customers is consolidated order flow. If a customer is set-up as a consolidation customer, this means that when items arrive to our warehouse, items will be shipped out at regular intervals independent of the specific order number. This flow has several benefits both for the customers but also reduces inefficiencies in the Logistics department.In this assignment we want to investigate how we can make more use of the consolidated order flow.

This assignment could be tackled as an implementation project or a DMAIC project. You will not only make an plan but will also have a chance to implement it and see the results.

Short department description:

You will be a part of the Spare Parts team within the Business Unit Supply. The Spare Parts department is globally responsible for marketing, procurement, sales, planning and delivery of Vanderlande material handling Spare Parts. The department consists of two teams.

Logistics, responsible for the replenishment order management and order fulfilment process of Spare Parts. You will be positioned in this department.

Parts Marketing and Sales Solutions, responsible for product management, master data, E-com and marketing, and also for package order management.

Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Collecting the Voice of the Customer. How the customer wants to consolidate their orders, what are their expectations, etc.

  • Mapping the current process End to End. Analyzing whether it is flexible and scalable

  • Define future consolidation option(s) and process(es)

  • Create materials we can use to describe these options to customers

  • Create a process on how to review customers to define when they should be on which consolidation option

  • Implement the plan to increase the % of the orders on the consolidation flow

Skills / Additional criteria for selection:

  • Knowledge of lean tools like VOC

  • Good communication skills

  • Customer and results-oriented mindset

  • Effective planning and organizational skills with a structured and accurate working approach

  • Proficient in spoken and written English
