Preparing and monitoring documentation procedures, standards and guidelines (e.g. procedures for transferring documentation, retention periods, layout and naming standards); recording change procedures; monitoring progress.

From Apache and the NH90 helicopter to the JSF: in the Manufacturing Engineering department, we produce complex components for the landing gear of the best-known helicopters and aircraft. In every project and production process in our department, quality is the key word. In the team (Industrial & System) of Peter Visser we are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer Configuration. Your goal? Provide technical expertise at a local project level for operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem solving skills. Accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling, part fabrication and assembly.

Activities:

Provide local project technical oversight for implementation, execution and adherence to product configuration management processes through:

  • Preparing configuration documentations and maintaining the data quality, integrity and security of Configuration Management (CM) database.
  • Ownership of enhancements to existing CM processes through deployment of Lean initiatives and leading global collaboration with other CM teams.
  • Audit the CM database and analyse configuration issues. Implement appropriate resolutions to audit findings and configuration issues

What you will bring

There are high quality requirements in aerospace engineering. Fortunately, you never lose sight of quality, are strong in accurate and planned work and can communicate well at all levels, from your direct colleagues and senior management to suppliers. Furthermore, you are a team player, you think in solutions and your analytical mind quickly sees what is needed to further improve things.

What else do you have to offer?

  • Technical expertise in Manufacturing Engineering, with a professional qualification / background (university degree) in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in Configuration Management. Aerospace experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience in implementing PLM systems in an Engineering company
  • Understanding of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000

Proficient in the use of Manufacturing Engineering related software:

  • Advanced user Office toolset. Excellence in the use of Excel (Including VBA)
  • Advanced user of PLM software (Windchill is a plus)
  • Experience in using Project Management Software
  • Experience in using ERP (particularly MRP-II)
