Data Science & Analytics Thesis Internship

During your thesis internship, you will become a true member of our team, having the chance to tap into the experience of our experts in many fields, and join us on our engagement events.

Team

• There are two sub-teams that make up the Intelligence capability. These include the Customer Data & Insights team or the Experimentation & Personalization team. Although you will be part of the Intelligence capability, you may be aligned with one of the teams depending on your thesis topic.

Daily tasks

• Defining problem statement: Connect with stakeholders to understand their needs, understanding the correct and complete research question to be addressed. Dive in data collection: Gathering, cleaning, and organizing relevant data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and quality for analysis. Data engineering: Perform data preprocessing tasks such as data cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering to prepare the data for modeling and analysis. Modeling and data analysis: Sharpen your research by applying statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, or other analytical approaches to uncover patterns, trends, and insights within the data, and iteratively refine models to improve accuracy. Data visualization: Make your insights digestible by creating informative and visually appealing data visualizations, utilizing tools such as Tableau or Google Data Studio, to effectively communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Research

• As a research intern at the Intelligence team, your primary objective will be to explore an effective approach to improve results for lead generation. You’ll have the freedom to dive into what you find to be an effective approach. Our suggestions are towards: Artificial Intelligence for personalization, Customer segmentation, Forecasting techniques, such as propensity modeling, Natural Language Processing, such as sentiment analysis.

• We’re a fun-loving group of tech enthusiasts. Through experience and specialized skills, we provide data strategy & consulting in the fields of marketing technology, analytics, insights and applied intelligence
• Experimentation & Personalization
• We fuel business goals by driving engaging customer experiences with the utilization of untapped Martech value. By utilizing statistics for a deeper understanding of the customer and an experimental way of working to transform and enhance CX. Experience optimization is the continued, data-driven, iterative process of improving the digital customer experiences and journeys to achieve business objectives.

here's what you'll need

• You are currently enrolled as a bachelor (HBO/WO) or master student in a Dutch educational institution throughout the entire duration of the internship.
• You have affinity with (big) data. Analytics, data science and/or machine learning are key areas that interest you. Experience with Google Analytics, BigQuery, Python or SQL would be a plus. However, don’t hesitate to apply if you’re new to any of these.
• You are naturally curious, eager to learn and willing to learn new tools, techniques, and technologies.
• You’re able to extract meaningful insights from data and communicate them in a digestible manner.
• You have a willingness to deepen or develop skills in presenting and pitching research outcomes.
• The bigger picture is important to you. Context and goals of business processes are important to you as you help align data science with business goals.
• Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written) and comfortable with English (spoken and written).
