Models are at the heart of how ING makes decisions, across Credit, Market, KYC, Operational, Pricing, and beyond. They are a powerful asset, and managing the uncertainties and risks that come with their use is essential to ensuring that model output leads to the right decisions and that models add business value safely.
We are looking for a hands-on, analytically driven Model Risk Specialist to join our Model Risk Portfolio Management & Frameworks team.
The team
The Model Risk Management department exists to make that happen, not through oversight alone, but by building a function that genuinely steers. Our ambition is to establish one global framework that works in practice: with clear roles and ownership across all lines of defence and locations, governance operationalised through our Model Risk Management platform rather than documents, and portfolio-level reporting that provides senior management with decision-ready risk information.
That means moving from reactive, model-by-model risk management to active portfolio steering, where prioritisation, remediation, and decommissioning decisions are driven by agreed risk metrics and forward-looking indicators, not point-in-time issues. And it means reporting that does not just describe risk, but signals clearly when escalation or intervention is required.
