At Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, it's easy to stay right on track. Like every car on our production line. Innovative technologies and highly automated systems ensure non - stop perfection every day. So that our plant continues to run smoothly, we are looking for a Shift Control Engineer for our prestigious head office and Manufacturing plant. 

You will be responsible for managing and steering the controls technical uptime for Plant Goodwood’s Paint Shop Manufacturing facility, ensuring any faults are rectified in a timely, cost effective manner and routine planned maintenance is observed and managed in accordance with both supplier recommendations and legal compliance, often incorporating full responsibly for Software management and Modification on Equipment, needed for Production. You will ensure all opportunities for Prevention of failures are capitalised, acted upon in an effective and timely manner and optimisations are managed throughout the lifecycle of the equipment. You will provide support and technical guidance for planning of new equipment. Day to day management of the design and implementation of solutions to provide more efficient equipment. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • A time served Engineering apprenticeship incorporating a HNC and / or City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Suitable level of experience within a Maintenance or Technical environment.
  • Advanced understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers and Communications Protocol is required.
  • A good understanding of Siemens Simatic, TIA Portal and S7/1500 systems - would be preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Visual Basic and C++ would be advantageous.
  • Qualified Electrician / Technician Level with up-to-date certification.
  • A broad working knowledge of Safety systems such as Dual Channel and Zero Volt systems.
  • Technical / operational experience with robots in a Production environment.
  • Membership of a Technical Institution at Technician Level or above would be advantageous.
