New Support Worker roles – jobs that make a difference

Avenues Support Workers benefit from great career progression, sector-leading professional training and great job stability – people stay with us an average of 6 years!

We are now looking for Support Workers to join our team in Ottershaw, Chertsey to work with people who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, dementia, behaviours that challenge, epilepsy and diabetes.

Palmer Crescent is a set of 3 bungalows based at the same location. The individuals all have varying support needs as well as varying personal care levels and so someone who is able to adapt in various situations and therefore work across all bungalows would be highly beneficial. All individuals have been with Welmede for many years and enjoy activities both in the home e.g. sensory and music classes as well as day trips out such as going out for group lunches.

You don’t need experience as full training is provided, and you will work with a local team who will guide you from day one.

As well as sharing our values of Respect, Excellence, Integrity and Pride, to join Avenues as a Support Worker you will need to be:

  • Reliable – the person you support, their family and your team will quickly learn that they can count on you.
  • Creative – you see alternative ways of getting things done effectively.
  • Determined – you don’t give up when things get difficult.

These qualities are essential to the role, as together they mean you will be able to give outstanding support, empowering people to make choices and …

  • participate in social, leisure and work activities
  • carry out everyday tasks, such as personal care, cleaning or going shopping
  • learn new skills and reach their full potential
