Key Purpose

To identify, develop and close profitable business within new and existing client base, through business development and account management activities.

The primary objective of this role is to expand and grow revenue, profits and relationship of new but existing client base within current and adjacent portfolio areas. The role of the Senior Business Development Manager is identify, develop and close profitable business through business development and account management activities on a global basis.

This will consist of c. 70% of direct sales activity spent face to face and over virtual platforms (inc. conference bridge, phone, and email) due to global customer base and customers desired way of working.

Candidates must be willing to work form Winnersh office at least 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Prospect for new business by networking, cold calling, or other means of expanding business levels within client base.
  • Identify, research and build mid, senior and executive level relationships and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of customer business and Engage ESM, Enable portfolio and services.
  • Plan and deliver persuasive approaches and pitches to win and expand client spend.
  • Develop a rapport with clients, and provide support that will continually improve the relationship.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals and SoW’s (including pricing) that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
  • Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.

Client Retention

  • Manage clients from a Global and Major Account Perspective and create top level strategy and account plans.
  • Grow and retain existing accounts by expanding relationships in to new areas/geographies and presenting new solutions and services to clients.
  • Work with consultants and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.

Business Development Planning

  • Develop an individual strategic sales plan for clients and execute against plan through business development and account management activity.
  • Attend industry functions, forums, conferences and seminars, to develop networks and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Develop new enablement solutions based on business (vendor)/industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and solutions that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Management & Research

  • Forecast and report activity carefully, accurately in a timely manner utilizing CRM tool and forecasting sheets
  • Teaming with Engage ESM partners and suppliers and Atos on sales opportunities leveraging their capabilities to best effect.
  • Research and ensure a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide and the consultant base, and of the company’s competitors.
