Mavens is at the forefront of online measurement, research, and strategy, consulting for some of the world's largest brands.

Our work is truly global, across industries and continents. We use analytics and data extracted from across the internet to enable brands to understand their consumers, optimise their digital properties, and make better strategic decisions.

It's mostly about being clever and knowing stuff. It's about researching things, about getting and playing with data, about drawing conclusions, and about being creative in our approach. We make sense of the raw data of the internet, and advise our clients on how it can be applied.

The opportunity

Foundry is a division of Mavens. Using insights drawn from digital consumer behaviour, and from local market culture, we help engage our clients’ audiences with creative copy and images that convey their brand values, built on a strong technical foundation that optimises search performance.

Foundry’s approach spans accessibility, content, and linking strategies to make sure that we provide the necessary signposts for search engines. We also activate content marketing campaigns by establishing exchange partnerships with reputable bloggers and opinion formers.

We are looking for motivated and experienced Japanese-speaking freelance writers. We need you to write and translate content for our household name clients. With your keen eye for detail, fluent writing style, and driven approach, you will help us to grow our clients’ reputations in a vital market.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing well-researched articles in Japanese, with an emphasis on quality and brand values;
  • Localising content to appeal to Japanese-speaking audiences;
  • Optimising websites and content to ensure best performance on search engines.

This position is a remote working opportunity, and successful applicants will not need to come into the office.

About you

We want bright and creative minds – who care about the quality of their work. You’ll possess an extremely keen eye for detail and experience in writing content and meeting deadlines. Fluency in English and Japanese is mandatory for the role, with knowledge of SEO preferable. Experience working on similar projects is also desired.

Working for us

At Mavens we value those with intellectual curiosity, a pioneering mind-set, and an undaunted attitude, who want to make a genuine difference to our clients and the way things are done. It's mostly about being clever and knowing stuff. It's about researching things, about getting and playing with data, about drawing conclusions, and about being creative in your approach. Finally, it’s about pulling all of that together to help design revolutionary approaches to problems and game winning strategies.

Our work is truly global, across industry and across continents. We distinguish ourselves by using search engine and social media data to provide insights into people and their behaviour, translating this into online strategies that drive genuine business benefits.

Our role is to help brands understand how the digital landscape works, from the geological underpinnings of Google search, to the rough peaks of the Facebook newsfeed. From wilds of forums and blogs, to the clean streets of the Apple App Store.

Mavens feeds hungrily on the raw data of the internet, and uses it to map and understand the paths that brands should tread.
