Position Summary

  • Align and unite all relevant IM functions to build a world class retail channel engagement and execution strategy
  • Lead newly formed Retail Channel Engagement team consisting of the existing Retail Channel Managers, Channel Marketing (matric reporting) & Field management teams
  • A world-class commercial model that delivers maximum channel execution and ROI across both 3rd party partner channels and 1st party retail.
  • Full integration with Sales and Finance to step change engagement & execution with channel partners teams and the quarterly terms agreements processes.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Control, optimize and develop field retail and channel marketing execution investments in all IM retail channels
  • Direct, engage, inspire and lead a 400+ strong field team to new levels of execution rigor and best-in-class standards.
  • Coordinate, control and optimize all relevant 3rd party agency support relationships.
  • Develop a new unified and business critical partnership with IM Marketing and specifically with Channel Marketing that develops a “oneview” execution strategy
  • Control, optimize and drive new accountability into all £multi-million investments including Channel Marketing budgets, Retail and SD-driven MSF.
  • Integrate retail channel engagement and execution into all principle 3rd party partner terms agreements including CPW, EE, O2, Vodafone, H3G, distribution and others.
  • By partnering with the retail operations team, activate “best-in-class” physical brand presence on the UK & Ireland high street for all major IM product launches and in lifecycle – “always on”: Defined by newly developed consumer, competitor-focused and category targets and metrics.
  • Ensure that all UK & Ireland seasonal opportunities are maximised in channels.
  • Develop a full-year execution strategy calendar; The north star that drives all functions and investment planning.
  • Enhance the consolidated, impartial and action driven channel execution audits including mystery shopping programs, channel compliance, ROI effectiveness that focuses on the ‘feel, see & hear’ engagement with channel; reported and actioned monthly with IM UK LT.
  • A national retail landscape commercial “heatmap” that ensures we are intelligently directing all retail & channel investments and executions in top performing stores and the broader nationwide estates.
  • Channel competitive intelligence (Voice of the Customer) and action-focused planning focused on IM to retain best market share of shelf, space, retail channel execution and store engagement, 24/7 - 365.
  • New ROI and investment impact reporting with LT on a monthly basis with course-corrections that are proactive, preventative, competitive and reactive.
  • Lead development of new ways of working across all Samsung Channel Engagement organisations in Europe and HQ.
  • Drive collaborative development of channel propositions with the Product & Sales management team
  • Bring new thought leadership in channel engagement and executions, looking outside the IM category and implementing best in class standards that drive new category norms.
  • Work with the top management stakeholders across the business to ensure strong alignment between channels and other teams (Sales, Brand, Training, Retail, Product Management, EO and HQ)
  • Develop and influence channel relationships, building a systematic C-suite level partnership plan.
