WHY WE NEED YOU

Assist the merchandiser in achieving sales and profit plans through managing in-season stock to planned targets and actively trading the department.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Ensure the weekly trading pack is produced accurately and issued on time.
  • To pull together trading priorities for the week, reviewing relevant documents, for the Merchandiser to sign off.
  • Manage departmental intake, attend weekly production meetings, flag issues, propose solutions and make sure these are actioned
  • Re-forecast sales on continuity lines to make sure stock levels are at the right levels throughout the season and propose any action needed.
  • Ensure the delivery schedule is being accurately maintained by the MAA’s and is able to account for intake movements
  • Ensure that intake on the WSSI is 100% accurate
  • Propose action on fast and poor moving lines to maximise department sales and minimise risk
  • Use current and historical performance to identify risks and opportunities in future ranges and suggest action to the merchandiser
  • Propose markdown lines and price points to the merchandiser and be able to give reasons for decisions
  • Update historical data in strategy packs, buy packs and for hindsight documents.
  • Work to the critical path ensuring that all key dates and planning and trading deadlines are met by managing workload effectively
  • To ensure requirements of the ordering cycles and critical path are met, whilst identifying exceptional areas which need immediate action, be it repeats, cancellation, re-phasing or mark down.
  • To manage the MAA workload on a daily basis
  • To ensure that all necessary communication is maintained with Suppliers, the team, call centre, the eComm team, retail and operations.
  • Regularly visit Jack Wills stores and key competitors to assess competitor activity and its impact on the department. Develop and propose action plans to the merchandiser

REQUIREMENTS

ABOUT YOU

  • You will need to be a graduate
  • With a good level of experience working in a merchandising role
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of merchandising systems
  • You’ll have great numerical and analytical ability
  • Be a really good team player
  • Who is hungry for development and keen to progress
