HY WE NEED THIS ROLE

Partner, support and challenge the assigned client group’s ( Supply Chain, Ecom and Retail) OpsBoard, SLG leaders, and their teams to drive operational performance, excellence and efficiencies in their business areas from a central and global perspective, providing sound financial advice to enable commercial decisions to be made on the basis of that advice.

Develop an own a rolling strategic efficiency plan, supporting the client group to identify efficiency opportunities, evaluate and prioritise the highest value options, and track implementation through delivery of benefits.

Support the development of decision-focused analysis and management information across key business processes, and provide insight into best practice and how it can be applied within Jack Wills.

More broadly, support key stakeholders in Finance and HR in managing the overall cost base and people costs across the business.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Manage key relationships effectively, being trusted at all times, maintaining a healthy balance between support and challenge; be the go-to finance person for key client groups.
  • Ensure KPIs are developed and understood and are effectively tracked and trends understood and acted upon.
  • Support the planning process to ensure that budgets, forecasts and strategic plans are delivered which support JW’s strategic aims and are underpinned by actions and reality.
  • Responsible for consistently high quality reporting within the assigned client group(s), providing relevant insight.
  • Drive understanding of the financial implications of spend including long-term ROI.
  • Track current performance and drive improved future performance against our internal measures and against our competitors.
  • Set up strong financial controls, communicate changes in business process and work collaboratively to ensure the business remains fast paced and flexible whilst underpinned by strong controls.
  • Responsible for delivering high quality business cases ahead of capital or OPEX spend being signed off.
  • Manage the month-end process for all client groups ensuring the monthly results accurately reflect the performance in the period.
  • To evaluate the profitability and performance against plan of new business initiatives and to ensure that the financial controls around those are strong.
  • To evaluate the efficiency and performance of key business processes, and to advise on opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the FC and the FP&A manager to ensure that all risks and ops are fully understood and tracked for each period and the half/year.

REQUIREMENTS

WHAT WE NEED FROM THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • Excellent stakeholder management and general interpersonal skills.
  • Acts with honesty, integrity and ensures that what they are others are doing is right.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced retail/FMCG environment and used to working under pressure with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated good leadership capability.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written. The ability to present complex issues in a simple way.
  • Track record of simplifying ways of working.
  • Proven business partnering skills.
  • Someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get things done as required.
  • Operates a ‘can do’/’we will’ attitude, thinking outside of the box whenever required.
  • Team player, always encouraging and being supportive.
  • Attention to detail and naturally inquisitive.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with several years of PQE in industry.
  • Comfortable with applying area of expertise when leading and going through business change.
