DWF is currently looking for an experienced Application Platform Engineer to join our rapidly expanding IT team.

As an Application Platform Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the IT Application platform services across the enterprise. The primary focus is on managing the resolution of application issues and maintenance of the environment.

Working with the Applications Managers to deliver the application roadmaps, using ITIL as the foundation to manage the applications lifecycle (plan, implement, release, operate, optimise & retire.)

  • A working knowledge of different operating systems, hardware, basic networking principles, databases, information security & applications.
  • Legal technology implementation & support & the ability to learn and master enterprise specific software
  • ITIL & applications lifecycle management.
  • MS System Centre Suite (SCCM & SCOM)
  • MS Office / O365, Plug/Add-Ins
  • Print & Word Template Tools
  • Citrix & virtualised environments
  • Active Directory

Experience is essential, as an Application Platform Engineer you will carry out the following:-

  1. Working with the Applications Managers to create, plan and deliver the application roadmaps as defined by the RACI model, using ITIL as the foundation to manage the applications lifecycle (plan, implement, release, operate, optimise & retire.)
  2. Perform the role of Project Manager as required and in accordance with the IT project management governance framework
  3. Provide DWF's requirements for provisioning applications in accordance with IT's guiding principles.
  4. Ensure DWF Information Security minimum standards are built and maintained in all applications and application change activity.
  5. Participate in the design process to understand the application both technically and operationally. Creation of runbooks outlining application operations, processes and procedures, technical documentation.
  6. Ensure that applications to be replaced / redundant have an appropriate data migration plan and will be decommissioned in a timely manner.
  7. Perform knowledge transfer presentations and create a structured knowledge base repository for both the customer and support teams.
  8. Support release implementation and post-release testing.
  9. Prepare maintenance and upgrade plans.
