How long?
Where?
We have locations across the UK, so we'll need you to be flexible. Our major sites are Derby, Bristol and Birmingham.
What you’ll be doing
Imagine working to discover solutions to some of our planet’s most vital power needs. That’s what our 19,400 engineers do every day, all over the world. Some of them are multi-disciplinary, some are specialists and some are world experts in their field. But all of them show outstanding technical knowledge, determination and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver our pioneering products.
To reflect the diverse and complex nature of our work, we offer a number of programmes; our core Engineering internships; or a number of dedicated specialisms: Electrical Systems, Electronics, Materials, Nuclear Controls, Software, Systems or Submarines Engineering.
Join us for 10 weeks over the summer or for 12 months. The longer you spend with us, the more impact and responsibility you can expect to have on real-life assignments that span the breadth of your discipline. The year-long internship is equivalent to one of the attachments from our graduate programme.
However long you’re with us for, you’ll have the opportunity to prove yourself. Perform well and you could be offered the chance to join a graduate programme.
If you’re a student member of an institute, experience gained on your internship can be used to credit some of your learning towards your graduate programme and chartership status, should you choose to join.
Electronics
In Rolls-Royce Control Systems, we provide safety-critical controls and instrumentation expertise to customers around the world. We have decades of experience in supplying solutions to customers in the aerospace markets, and a career here means the chance to get directly involved in developing electronic engine control (EEC) systems. It’s exciting work, especially because you’ll be based in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility. You'll be at the cutting-edge of high-performance, harsh environment electronics, working on the control and instrumentation systems – the ‘brain’ of the engine. Whether you’re developing new technologies, testing units, improving current products or designing future control systems, it’s an opportunity to contribute innovations and ideas to product designs for electronics that operate in increasingly demanding, harsh environments.
What we’re looking for
Rolls-Royce is a global company, providing integrated power solutions to the aerospace and marine/industrial power systems markets.
