Opcare is a leading service provider within the fields of mobility and rehabilitation, looking to expand the clinical team as the company continues to grow. We are currently recruiting for a Wheelchair Service Engineer at our Leicester Centre.

Our overall aim is to work in partnership with the NHS to provide excellent levels of patient-focused care. With over 120 specialist clinicians across Wheelchair, Prosthetic and Orthotic Services, there is a close-knit clinical community and a constant focus on learning and development.

Purpose of the job:

  • Optimise Opcare Wheelchair Service fleet and peripherals to deliver a value for money service to current and future contracts
  • Following decontamination procedures including correct disposal of scrap / unwanted equipment and waste from Leicester Wheelchair Service centre
  • Identifying fleet chairs and peripherals for reuse
  • Being able to recondition or build to prescription to a quality assured standard

Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Refurbishment of fleet and built to prescription manual wheelchairs
  • Following decontamination procedures and the correct disposal of scrap / unwanted equipment both physically and on Opcare’s bespoke tool ensuring fleet records are accurate
  • Identifying all equipment for reuse
  • Processing each work schedule using Opcare’s bespoke tool
  • Demonstrate a positive can do attitude with a mind-set of continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic
