Have you just finished your Master in Dutch Law and are you specifically looking for a TRAINEESHIP where you can develop yourself within a wide range of topics? Would you like to work for an international corporate?

Vistra offers a legal traineeship for Corporate Lawyers which will start in September (and March). We are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious starters, who will get the chance to develop themselves at different levels during our 18-month traineeship.

You will start off with your fellow legal and finance trainees. The first month you will be getting fulltime training. This will be focused on developing theoretical knowledge, practical courses, soft skill training and you’ll get to work on challenging business cases. Various aspects of working at a corporate service provider will be discussed, such as our approach and our clients. Not only your financial knowledge, but also your legal and tax knowledge will be expanded to prepare you for a successful career at Vistra.

After this first month you are ready for take off and you will start as a (junior) Corporate Lawyer in one of our client service teams. You will be responsible for the corporate housekeeping of the Dutch entities of our clients. You will work with interesting clients from a range of industries: multinationals, private equity firms, real estate companies, international accounting firms, and international law firms.

 You will work closely with your financial colleagues and with external partners, such as lawyers, tax advisors and financial advisors. Each month you will have intervision, for example to discuss interesting business cases and to follow more training.

Key responsibilities

As a (junior) Corporate Lawyer you are responsible for the daily legal management and coordination of 40 to 60 companies. You will have direct client contact and a wide range of topics, including:

  • Responsible for management of client entities in accordance with Dutch corporate law and regulations. You will maintain and build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients;
  • Timely and accurate daily management of corporate legal matters;
  • Maintenance of client files in cooperation with other (Senior) Corporate Lawyers, through required corporate legal documentation;
  • Setting up and managing corporate and private legal structures;
  • Accurate and timely set up and maintenance of compliance files and annual reviews;
  • Identifying compliance risks and share with your legal colleagues, as our compliance team;
  • Professional (verbal and written) communication with clients, shareholders, advisors and other relevant parties concerning legal matters;
  • Building and managing professional business relationships with (prospective) clients.

 In all, you will be supervised by more senior corporate lawyers, your team manager and HR. 

Qualifications and other requirements

For our Traineeship Legal we are looking for starters who:

  • are ambitious to develop themselves broadly within an international corporate;
  • have a master degree in Dutch law (preferably corporate or notarial law);
  • would love to really get responsible working for, and with clients. You are client focused, well-organized and you have a commercial mindset;
  • have between 0-2 years of relevant experience (gained in legal or financial services);
  • have excellent Dutch, and English language skills. Written and spoken.
  • you have a good sense of humor and you are a friendly;
  • are full-time available from 2 September 2019!
