We are currently seeking engineers and scientists, with a Master's degree, to work as European Patent Examiners in the area of Electrical and electronic technology in the following technical fields:

The Hague

- Power Electronics and Electro-Mechanics

You have a degree in Electronical Engineering, Mechatronics or Power Electronics, or Mechanics. Preferably you have some years of practical work experience in industry in one or more of the following areas:

For Power Electronics:

  • Electrical cables
  • Installations,
  • Switchgear
  • Connectors

For Electro-Mechanics:

  • Power Converters (switched mode power conversion, solid state power semiconductor switches)
  • Generators

- Traffic Control

You have a degree and solid background in Electrical Engineering and knowledge of one or more of the following:

  • Traffic control systems
  • Anti-collision systems between vehicles
  • Platooning of vehicles on the motorway, autonomous driving vehicles
  • Parking of vehicles in general, indication of free parking spaces
  • Air traffic control systems with applications which relate to air traffic information from and to an airplane, navigation and monitoring routes with anti-collision systems

- Electromechanical devices

You have a degree in Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (with knowledge of Electronics). You have knowledge of one or more of the following:

  • Cooling for data centres
  • Housing for electronic control units and power converters in conventional and in particular in electric vehicles
  • Housing for automation systems and cooling for electronic and telecommunication systems, shielding of electronic devices
  • Mounting of electronic devices on circuit boards

- Automatic Control and Robotics

You have a degree in Robotics, Control or Electrical Engineering and have work experience or knowledge of the following:

  • Programme control systems
  • Digital data theory, e.g. interpolation, digital filters, identification and modelling of systems
  • Robotics, control of robotics
  • Information processing theory
