Mission and Main Objectives:

Manage all aspects of mechanical building services engineering work within the motor vehicle plant including legislation compliance, full project management and refurbishment planning. Support Service Maintenance in day to day technical matters.

Outline and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for all mechanical building services including developing refurbishment strategies, legislation compliance and technical support to maintenance team.
  • Formulate specifications and complete health and safety plans in accordance with CDM and relevant UK and European health and legislation to and HSE requirements.
  • Carry out engineering evaluation on plant loading and capacity from mechanical service aspect for compressed air, LPHW, gas, HVAC, trade effluent plant and water systems.
  • Deal with the local authority and other relevant governing bodies (Planning and building regulations) on building services matters
  • Support the site and services department in meeting PPC permit conditions from an environmental point of view such the trade effluent plant
  • Detailed co-ordination of works to successfully implement projects within a production based environment.
  • Legal compliance, support and develop activities to maintain ISO14001, Legionella and other legislation / procedure compliance.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Qualified and experienced mechanical building services engineer (Degree level)
  • Knowledge of industrial compressors, cooling towers, heating and ventilation systems essential.
  • Project management and specification development experience essential.
  • Ability to deal with local authorities on building services matters and health and safety issues.
  • Ability to use cad and other relevant modeling packages desirable.
  • Good inter-communication and report writing skills.
