Resource & Planning provides performance insight to uncover trends and opportunities in order to improve the customer journey and optimise operations, as well as providing key input into project teams to quantify the staffing impacts of various initiatives and changes.

Position Description

As a Resource & Planning Analyst you will be responsible for forecasting staffing requirements, which constitute a large proportion of our Budget. Working closely with our Claims Handling Centres to determine their resource needs, and working on strategic projects in order to continue to delivery our best in class Claims Service.

You will:

  • Provide long term forecasts for resource requirements for all teams within the Claims department showing variances to actuals and budget.
  • Work in close conjunction with different areas to understand their processes, workflows and targets in order to establish resourcing requirements.
  • Drive performance and an improved customer service by providing regular reporting, insight and recommendations.
  • Analyse and validate key planning assumptions
  • Provide recommendations on how to improve performance & identify future pinch points
  • Look to optimise the usage of Workforce Management systems within the business
  • Work with project teams to validate cost benefit analysis
  • Work with our Actuarial and Finance teams to understand projected claim volumes and budgetary impacts

The role will require liaising with business centres to ensure they are equipped to use information provided to them, and regular travel to our Claims Handling Centres. Skills & Experience

Key Requirements:

  • Analytical and logical, with the ability to apply creative solutions to resource constraints
  • Flexible thinker who is able to quickly adapt to changes in arrival volumes and patterns
  • Excellent excel skills, with experience in gathering requirements and creating accurate and high quality reports suitable for circulation throughout the business
  • An interest in developing new skills
  • Great communication skills, team player, self-starter
  • Organised, demonstrated strong work ethic, results driven and able to hit deadlines

The following are not mandatory requirements, but are particularly desirable:

  • Experience using WFM tools to forecast demand
  • Experience of working in a large multi-skilled contact centre
  • Experience working in a project environment
  • Bachelors degree in a numerate, scientific or computing subject (e.g.. Computer Science, Business analytics, Data Science, Maths, Economics, Physics …)
  • An understanding of the principles of insurance
