Our Sales and Marketing teams are essential to the continued growth of our business, marketing and developing products, building new business and managing client relationships.
What do we do?
Our Sales and Marketing teams are crucial to the success and continued growth of our business. From developing new investment products and solutions and telling our clients about them, to bringing in new business and managing client relationships to help them choose the right products; it’s an exciting and varied department to work in. As well as providing investment products, we provide innovative wealth management and retirement planning solutions to four client groups:
Distributes Fidelity funds and tailored investment solutions using our own and other managers’ strategies to banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms, financial advisers, and family offices.
Offers tailored strategies and segregated mandates, as well as institutional funds to pension funds, public authorities and sovereign wealth funds.
Fund Platforms and Workplace Investing
Provides access to both Fidelity and third party products; as well as investment services and administration for advisers, personal investors and corporate DC pension schemes.
Provides guidance on investing and retirement saving and planning, and access to Fidelity and third party products with personal accounts held on our platforms.
What will I be doing?
Over your eight weeks you’ll be allocated to one of our sales, marketing or product teams in either London or Surrey to give you a thorough understanding of our clients and their lifecycle, different markets and our products and solutions.
Within sales support you will gain exposure to clients, help to prepare for and attend client meetings, introducing Fidelity International and our capabilities. You will attend events to get to know prospective clients and assist in building relationships with existing contacts.
You will work on innovative marketing campaigns and assist in developing new tools to help investors choose and manage their portfolios. You could also be analysing data and assisting with market research that enables us to identify new trends in the marketplace, or product opportunities ahead of our competitors.
We have product roles across all our asset classes. You would liaise with the investment directors and the sales teams to provide market commentary and client presentations to deepen your product knowledge.
What we look for
We look for intelligent, quick-thinking students with a keen interest in the industry. For that reason, we take on people from all degree disciplines.
Thirst for Knowledge
You will be highly driven with intellectual curiosity, ambition and an absolute commitment to serving the best interests of our clients. You’ll have the analytical skills to understand product performance and ideas to develop both new and existing markets.
You will have the ability to build your network with individuals from a range of business cultures and backgrounds.
Confident and Articulate
You must be confident, enthusiastic and articulate enough to shine in front of clients, particularly when presenting.
You will need a minimum of CCC at A-Level (or equivalent), and on track for a minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) classification.

Learning & Development
You will be highly valued here and your development is heavily invested in from day one and throughout your programme.
We like well-rounded applicants, which is why we will ask you questions that will highlight your personality and potential, rather than just numerical capabilities.
Before applying, check out our top tips for how you can add value via our interview process.
We’ve worked hard to ensure our new process is fast and efficient. That means our application deadline is not about just ‘getting your foot’ in the door by the 31st December, you need to apply, pass the on-line assessments and submit your video-interview by the 31st December as well.
We value the different ways that people think. The best way to explore that is to hear from you. Our initial online application form is a quick and easy process designed to take as little time as possible, so you can get on to the immersive testing and interview stages - where you can really show who you are.
You will need to:
*Please note if you are currently on a Tier 4 student visa, this means you have the right to work in the UK
Online strengths assessment
Here you will be asked to rank a number of potential responses to some scenarios based on what you are likely to experience at Fidelity. When you submit your application form you will be automatically invited to complete our on-line assessment within 5 days. (Please check you spam/junk mail folder for the invite.)
If you’re successful at the online stage, we’ll invite you to do a 30-minute video interview within 5 days. (Please check you spam/junk mail folder for the invite.) You’ll be asked to answer 4-5 strengths-based questions and have 30 seconds to read the question, and up to a minute to give your answer. (If you feel you will need extra time to record your interview, please email us email@example.com to discuss before launching your video interview.) You’ll be given a practice question before you start so you have time to get used to the format. There isn’t a wrong or right answer, this is a chance for you to show us how you approach answering questions about your strengths and interests.
The next stage of our application process is either a face-to-face or Skype interview, depending on your location. The questions you’ll be asked here are a combination of motivational and strengths-based questions and give us a chance to understand what you enjoy and what areas of the role fuel your enthusiasm. It’s best not to over-prepare for these as we want you to be yourself and feel relaxed. Remember to think about specific examples of when you’ve demonstrated your strengths so that we can get a clear view of who you are a person.
During the assessment, you will be involved in a mix of exercises and assessments related to the role you are applying to. The day is also a great chance for you to meet different members of the team here at Fidelity and ask any questions you have about the business - this day is as much about you making sure Fidelity is the right place for you as it is about us assessing your strengths.
Stand out at the assessment centre and we’ll offer you a place on the programme. You’ll have two weeks from the day you receive your offer to make a decision. We can assign you a current graduate as a buddy to help with your decision making. Plus they’ll continue to be on hand to support you throughout your early career at Fidelity.
