Product Database Internship, Amsterdam Area

The product database intern will work in the Global Category Management team for the Sun products. The internee will be familiarized with the retail fashion industry in regards to the sun attributes, will learn the products and the catalogue selection process (Open to Buy).

Category Master Data Specialist

Main purpose of the role

  • Responsible for hands-on execution and maintenance of the master data
  • Ensures compliance with policies and processes around data attributes
  • Ensures new data elements are not duplications of existing core data
  • Responsible for the inactivation of incorrect data elements
  • Performs day-to-day activities around maintaining enterprise master data
  • Works with Business Owners and Master Data Administrators (GMDO) to help troubleshoot data issues
  • Monitors, validates, and executes data creation and change requests in data hub in an accurate and timely manner
  • Identifies master data exceptions, and further analyze and resolve exceptions
  • Executes data cleansing, data enrichment and testing cycles for system upgrades and projects.

Highly adaptable to new environments; with a natural ability to embrace learning and develop through experience.

Required qualification/level of education

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related IT field
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Proficiency in Excel is a must, including experience with pivot tables and formulas.

  • Ability to work independently when required
  • Discretion, good judgment and organizational ability
  • Must be detail oriented, punctual and efficient
  • Perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to consistently upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions
  • Researches and resolves challenging problems independently, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to convert data into formats required for various software applications and reports
  • Willing to travel occasionally
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
