Job Summary

The above vacancy now exists in OA79 (Client Services).

The principal duties of the Client Manager will be to compile business proposals in response to enquiries received by our Safety Assessment division. This will involve using your scientific knowledge to assess our clients’ needs and your commercial know-how to present a compelling business proposition.

The role is full of variety and offers the opportunity to build on your scientific knowledge, and previous experience in a scientific or related role, with interactions with global clients on a daily basis. Once a period of training has been completed, you will be expected to be responsible for your own portfolio of clients.

This vacancy will undoubtedly offer a new challenge for a biological or environmental sciences graduate, or someone with a sound scientific background, who is now looking to use their experience in a commercial role. Experience in a scientific role, e.g. Senior Assistant Scientist or Study Director, or in a scientific supporting role, e.g. Quality Assurance would be desirable. Minimum of BSc/BA required.

A strong scientific background, preferably in the biological or environmental sciences, effective communication, inter-personal and presentation skills and the ability to use your own initiative are essential, as regular contact and liaison with clients and internal customers will be an important feature of this role.

Some knowledge of regulatory requirements would be advantageous although not essential as the successful candidate will be expected to gain experience and actively develop knowledge within the job. Attention to detail, a systematic and

co-ordinated approach to task completion, effective administrative skills and commercial awareness are vital pre-requisites for this position.

Salary for this position will be Non-graded and dependent upon qualifications and/or relevant experience.

This is a Non-graded position and salary is dependent upon qualifications and/or relevant experience. Starting salary for this position is £21,101. Successful candidates will be appointed to the bottom of the pay band if they have no relevant experience.

In exceptional circumstances where the candidate has relevant equivalent experience, this will be taken into consideration.
