At DSM Biomedical within the DSM Innovation Center (DIC), we are currently looking for an Associate Scientist – Senior Technician to strengthen the RT&D Biomedical Polyethylene’s group. A fulltime position based at the fiber & textile center at DSM Dyneema in Heerlen and the Brightland Campus in Geleen.

The challenge

In this role, you need to assure that DSM Biomedical products are of consistent and high quality by Assuming responsibility for duties related to assisting in research, development, testing and manufacturing of medical materials or components in compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards. You will participate on project teams consisting of R&D, Commercialization, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Business Development and Finance to meet our customer needs.

  • To (co) assess and complement plans for conducting experiments.
  • To accurately prepare and plan experiments and practical labwork so that activities are safe, efficient and effective;
  • To conduct labwork in accordance with a work plan, as well as monitoring and anticipating on deviations and/or unforeseen circumstances in such a way that these experiments lead to a usable outcome within given preconditions;
  • To process the collected data and observations so that they are accessible for the client and meet the given objectives.
  • To review the technical process and the experiment process;
  • To verify Quality and Regulatory standardization;
  • To report.
  • To review on a regular bases with the Scientist about matters such as progress, problems, new developments and planning;
  • Contribute as a team member to improve the team performance.

The ideal

You have a bachelor’s degree in applied science, chemical, textile- or biomedical engineering. You are curious, creative and think in solutions and are a self-starter.  You can work accurate, dependable and detail-oriented. You have good documentation and communication skills and are proficient in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
