Position Description

Be part of something exciting. Do you want to take your career to the next level as part of one of the big five IT and business process firms in the world? We are recruiting for an Infrastructure Network Technical Architect with network automation experience and preferably also with Next-Gen technology, to join our team responsible for design work across a wide client base in sectors such as Energy and Utilities and local Government as well as other commercial and public sector clients.

Due to the secure nature of the work, all candidates must hold UK SC clearance status or be eligible to be SC cleared. This role can be based at any of the following offices; Bridgend, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Reading or Bristol. There will be some, fully expensed, travel to client sites and other CGI offices as required. Work/life balance is very important to us and we try to make sure that any travel away from base office is minimised and we also offer flexibility for home working when project work allows.

Your future duties and responsibilities

As an Infrastructure Network Technical Architect you will be an SME in telecommunications, able to define, validate and provide cost solutions for projects and bids for customer requirements. Daily responsibilities could include creating design documentation (Low Level Design-LLD, High Level Design-HLD), cost estimates, bids, pre-sales support and best practice documentation on the network element of designs, transitions and implementations.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

You must offer demonstrable and in-depth expertise in network design, particularly across IT infrastructure environments. Previous design experience of LAN, WAN and broad experience on a range of Firewalls (including Cisco, Fortigate, CheckPoint and Palo Alto) are critical.

As well as expertise in multiple network disciplines, experience creating design documentation (Low Level Design-LLD, High Level Design-HLD), network automations, mitigating risk, working to documentation standards, disaster recovery and network solution governance should form the basis of a suitable profile.
