Since 2011 when we first produced the MP4-12C, we have continued to grow year on year, as sales and production volumes follow in the same trend, over the next few years we will produce new vehicles and derivatives of, with the overall aim of producing and selling 6,000 per year, in line with our Track25 business plan.

All companies experience growing pains and our business is no different. This presents us with plenty of opportunity to learn and develop even further together and as individuals.

Our cars are hand built, so we can be sure every car that leaves our production centre is to the highest standard and worthy of the McLaren badge.

Our Manufacturing Engineering team are growing to support our Track25 business plan. New Models mean more opportunity to learn and create processes and standardisation around how we perfect each and every model we build.

This team are crucial to the success of our manufacturing operations, as they are responsible for the processes and complexities of how we build new models – taking them from initial concept designs through prototype stages into series production.

Joining the Manufacturing Engineering team will give you the exposure to unique manufacturing processes – away from cold, impersonal robots to people who take time, effort and passion to produce something truly magnificent. Using manual tooling solutions and methods, the team deliver products to specific tolerance targets, takt efficiencies & process flows. All of which are key measurements and metrics of our assembly processes.

In this role, you will have plenty of variety – everyone in the team will have a wider exposure to the business and no two days are the same, working on any part of the car, a wishbone one day to closures the next day. Interfacing with concept design and engineering teams across multiple projects, you will witness projects from beginning to end.

Our Manufacturing Engineering team is full of talented engineers, who are analytical in their thinking and hands on in their approach. Driven by passion and achievement, they support each other and enjoy learning from their peers, they are looking for likeminded people to join their team.

At McLaren Automotive we take your career development seriously. We offer a catalogue of training available to all our employees such as classroom-based courses to influencing workshops and technical training such as practical problem solving.

To be successful in this team you should have a background in manufacturing engineering, ideally from automotive but other industry experience is also welcomed – aerospace, defence etc.

Ideally you should have a good understanding of the design for manufacturing processes, including virtual build, but more importantly, experience with design for assembly (DFA) and PFMEA.

As part of the McLaren Group, there are a wide range of benefits to take advantage of, such as childcare vouchers, flexible working (depending on role), generous holiday allowance, contributory pension, executive car lease scheme, onsite gymnasium and swimming pool and a subsidised restaurant, plus a lot more. Not to mention discounts on the McLaren store and our partner organisations.

McLaren Automotive is entering a new era as it seeks to expand and build on its expertise. To succeed is about more than technology, it is about people. There is now an exceptional opportunity for talented individuals to join McLaren Automotive, share in our vision.
