DWF Costs forms part of Connected Services, a new specialist division of DWF comprising a range of businesses that complement our core legal offering, as well as offering stand-alone and complementary services and products directly to clients.

Ranging from recovery through to negotiation, points of dispute, provisional assessments and detailed assessment hearings, our legal experts have a tenacious approach to cost saving. In particular, we are leading the way with the innovative use of technology to generate management information, resulting in robust, decisive recommendations for cost budgeting on both sides.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a caseload of primarily litigated insurance costs work which will be a mix of RTA,EL/PL and Disease cases to include preparing points of dispute, replies, preparation of cost budgets and negotiations. Advocacy experience and membership of the ACL not necessary although would be an advantage.

What you will be doing:

To progress cases, under supervision, to an effective and satisfactory conclusion for clients whilst providing and maintaining management information under the terms of the client service level agreement

To build strong working relationships with internal and external clients and the wider costs team. Main Duties:

To provide excellent client service to internal and external clients and to deal with client queries, under the supervision of the Team Leader.

  • Action all cases in line with practice group/client service standards, SLAs and protocols ensuring the monitoring and completion of MI as required;
  • Use of the case management system and / or use of standard documentation wherever appropriate to maximise cost efficiency;
  • Utilise negotiation and communication skills to proactively settle/assist in the settlement of cases to the satisfaction of the client whilst further developing legal technical knowledge;
