The Research and Development Center Coffee and Tea (R&DC) is part of the Global JDE organization. R&D is the major contributor for developing Innovative coffee and tea products and is constantly optimizing the product portfolio. Focus of R&D is both on building Technology Platforms (TP) and on New Product Development (NPD). Moreover, some disciplines within R&D have a strong involvement in the JDE business and are leading in decisions to be made. Specifically determining ways of working, developing process steps & templates. Projects are mostly carried out together with Marketing, Operation and Purchasing Departments.

Job Description

As Packaging Specification Specialist you are responsible leading and coordinating data input in the PML (Product Lifecycle Management) system. Together with your colleague you will support the Packaging team (54 colleagues) by making sure data is entered in an accurate, timely and consistent manner.

In this role you will support us with:

  • Completion of Packaging specification data input, to approval status on behalf of packaging category teams.
  • Liaise with packaging category teams
  • Ensuring specifications are completed to best practice standard (Inc. sourcing approval)
  • Manage Specification report tracker updates
  • Challenging the Status Quo, proposing new working practices
  • Support/coach temporary staff member


To be successful in this role we are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with a Bachelor degree and additional relevant education/courses in Packaging. You understand packaging data and detect abnormalities. You are not afraid to challenge the Packaging team members on this. You are also able to communicate complex technical matters in a succinct and clear way to both technical and non-technical people in both written and verbal forms.

Our preferred candidate would also have:

  • At least 3 years’ relevant work experience
  • Multi material specification generation (Meridian/PLM and advantage), including 2D tech drawings
  • Demonstrable project management skills, together with the ability to operate in a complex, multinational environment
  • A logical, rigorous and scientific approach to problem solving is also essential
  • Strong developed time management and prioritization skills
  • Primary language English (second language desirable) 

Additional Information

This role could either be located in Banbury (UK) or Utrecht (NL).

Travelling abroad required for meetings with suppliers, institutes, other JDE sites, etc.
