Your tomorrow starts today

You might know Mars from brands like M&M’s®, Snickers®, Twix®, Freedent®, Whiskas®, Pedigree®, Whiskas®, Uncle Ben’s® and Dolmio®. What makes working for this privately owned company great: we work to proactively shape a healthy and sustainable food industry. Guided by our principles we deliver quality, address public concerns and develop mutually beneficial relations with all our stakeholders.

Become the backbone of our technology and provide cutting-edge equipment that gives us significant technological advantages. We promise you’ll play a key role in creating and sharing Mars products, and be engaged and challenged every step of the way.

Drive how we produce and deliver products people love around the globe

As a Project Engineer, your main challenge is delivering CAB-investments in various sites in the cluster. These investments will be projects based on the Mars Project Management curriculum, from scoping until project closure, and executing these technical elements is your main focus. Your technical expertise, together with your supervision and management skills, will be beneficial to multidisciplinary teams working for a portfolio of engineering activities.

You’ll be impacting the world of our customers by:

  • Managing the budgets related to the CAB-elements of the projects you deliver;
  • Ensuring that human safety, Q&FS and other relevant global/regional legal obligations and standards are implemented into technical solutions, during the installation and execution of the projects;
  • Sharing your engineering expertise with other departments to grow knowledge;
  • Keeping up to date on industry trends and issues, related to your expertise area;
  • Translating theoretical models into practical solutions;
  • Communicating regularly with the Regional Engineering Manager and the functional pillar leader or the overall project-leader.

Do you fit into our Mars family?

Our family is vast and diverse, just like our 85,000 Associates. Naturally collaborative and curious are key characteristics we’d like you to have. You know how to get things done in order to achieve consistent results. Your expertise in packaging or process ensures you can handle the tasks that are thrown your way. In addition, you know how to translate theoretical models into practical solutions, due to your extensive knowledge of P&IDs. Directing others is part of your skillset, just as managing and measuring the work of others. You’re driven and customer-focused.

Your CV will need to reflect the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 1-3 years’ detailed experience detailed technical engineering (eg. Piping, Cooling- and thermodynamics technology, Packaging specifications or equipment)
  • Knowledge and experience with P&ID’s
  • Know-how of relevant (financial) business processes
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and written

Depending on the projects in our cluster, we might require you to travel. We of course will make agreements about this in mutual consultation.

Develop your future & belong to something bigger

At Mars, we are a relationship-driven culture. We celebrate the teams we work in, and our Associates benefit from a nurturing and caring environment. You won’t be alone: you’ll have great mentors and colleagues along the way. Since our people are seeking continuous improvement for self-development and growth, we offer you several development programmes, provided by our award-winning Mars University.

Since we are all in it together, we offer you:

  • Above-average annual wages and flexible working hours
  • 25 days of annual leave and 2 collective days off
  • Growing beyond what you can possibly imagine
  • Benefits that make your life easier and more fun, including your own company pension scheme, life insurance and corporate gym memberships
