The Ocean Cleanup develops advanced technology to extract, prevent, and intercept plastic pollution. In 2018, The Ocean Cleanup initiated the largest cleanup in history by launching the first cleanup system; System 001 ("Wilson").

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to assure its success, we are hiring a smart and well-structured Supply Chain Coordinator, who’s passion it is to be the 'go to' person in procurement and loves to discuss with our bright technical crew. As the Supply Chain Coordinator you will be responsible for the supply chain and contract activities for The Ocean Cleanup. You will report to the Chief Operations Officer for corporate matters and the Project Managers for project matters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop procurement strategies for projects
  • Proactively work with our engineers to find the most suitable suppliers for our complex scope packages
  • Review and discuss Scope of Works and Inspection & Test Plans for services, constructions and equipment
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies
  • Coordinate scopes, specification and terms & conditions with various specialists resulting in an Invitation to Tender
  • Generate contracts and supporting purchase orders
  • Monitoring suppliers' performance, progress and quality until final delivery of the goods
  • Maintaining relations with suppliers
  • Analyzing data, providing up-to-date vendor-, product- and market information

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 4 years’ relevant experience in supply chain management in a technological industry
  • Able to manage suppliers and contracts, and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and other external parties
  • Understands technical requirements and can clearly communicate these to suppliers
  • Knowledge of the legal aspects of international contracting, as well as logistical aspects
  • Comprehension of the design and technical details of a system and the ability to provide feedback to the team with regards to potential issues in the supply process
  • Possesses academic-level thinking and communication skills
