This is how you do itAs our Manager Security Operations are part of the VodafoneZiggo Technology Security management team. You are actively involved in shaping and defining the VodafoneZiggo technology security roadmap.

Your main responsibility is to (pro)actively manage the “Security Run”-team in close co-operation with its mother companies and third parties.

You manage the relation and contract with the outsourced SOC and are responsible for managing and continuously improving the detect, respond, and recover parts in reference to the NIST security framework.

You ensure that our logging and monitoring capabilities are state of the art and keep up to the latest developments in how best to secure our technical infrastructure, not only by technical security controls but with input to our security policies and processes as well.

You ensure reporting on the effectiveness of the implemented controls.

You will set up and maintain a network inside and outside VodafoneZiggo to align and agree on realizing the technical security vision.

You strengthen the teamWithin VodafoneZiggo, security is organized in two departments, Corporate Security and Technology Security. In a nutshell one may say that Corporate Security is responsible for the security policies, while Technology Security is responsible for securing the VodafoneZiggo infrastructure by implementing the right technical security controls. These security policies are important input for the technology security roadmap but there is more: VodafoneZiggo is ISO-27001 certified, our corporate customers are demanding the highest security standards, the European GDPR act, the changing security threat landscape.

The work within the Technology Security team is organised according the “plan-build-run-operate” principle. This position is typically in the “run” area, accountable for minimizing the impact of a security incident. To do so it is important that Security Run can quickly detect and respond to recover a security incident. Besides, it is important to know and understand where VodafoneZiggo is vulnerable with respect to security threats. Knowing and understanding the vulnerabilities, is necessary to risk based implement mitigating controls to minimize potential impact.

Our new Manager Security Operations has the following on his/her resume:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in IT, with strong focus on IT security.
  • at least 5 years of experience in technical security in a complex environment.
  • a vast experience in ISO-27001, GDPR and/or another architecture control framework like COBIT, SABSA, NIST
  • preferable a CISSP, CISM or CISA certification

  • a professional attitude; You are self-starting and you are able to structure and manage your work effectively. You are organized although you have a hands on mentality, you know how to get things done in an efficient and effective manner,

  • leadership skills; you are able to motivate a team of highly qualified security specialists.
  • The ability to realize your vision with respect to improve the maturity level of the security run activities beyond expectation.
