Would you like to work on topics like climate change, health and well-being, inclusion or responsible consumption and production?

Would you like to tackle key societal issues with smart technologies such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, chatbots, text mining, blockchain, sensors and haptics?

Then join our 20-week programme Digital Transformation, created for people who are passionate with addressing social challenges through digital technology.

n 20 weeks you will develop the skills toI design the digital transformation of society, and enable positive impacts for businesses and people. You will work within intercultural teams with different disciplinary backgrounds: social scientists, designers, coders and makers. Each discipline is essential for the success of the team. Together we create change! 


Some of the projects we worked on this year are Connected Campus with ING, where we create IoT solutions to connect people in the working space of the future. We also work on Security in the Data Era with the Dutch National Police, where we research how the current young generation could be and feel secure in 2030, while ensuring an ethical use of AI. What do the 20 weeks look like? 


• We start with two weeks intensive training on Design Thinking, Sustainability and Teamwork

• In sprints of three weeks you work on a project within a team. There will also be workshops, meetings with project partners, with a project coach and a lot of other community events.

• In every sprint you will develop prototypes of your project solutions.

• After 20 weeks we close the program with a showcase with the project partners and the Digital Society School community.

• Your team will deliver prototype(s), research report with insights and methodology, blog posts and presentations like powerpoint, and a video.

• You will take home a professional portfolio, based on your experience, to use in your future career.

We are looking for programmers who are familiar with data science, and want to use state-of-the-art data analytics methods. You will enable powerful data mining techniques, such as deep learning, and you will work on data analysis and visualizations with state-of-the-art frameworks.
