Do you like cows? Have you backpacked towards the jungle of Africa? Did you ever march for human rights or the environment? Good! But are you also commercially driven, pragmatic and do you have a passion for investment? Even better! UFF is offering a unique investment internship opportunity for highly motivated, ambitious and social engaged people. After this 4 (minimum) – 6 (preferably) months internship we might even hire you as a junior impact investment analyst!

We are a highly specialized investment fund aimed at the food and agricultural sector in Africa. The fund invests in large-scale (USD 10-30 million) commercial farms and processing facilities, with a strong focus on environmental & social responsibility.

We are looking for:

We are looking for an international oriented, bright, entrepreneurial (self-starter), passionate and adventurous new members to strengthen our team. Most likely you are a post-graduate (Masters) candidate with strong analytical skills and a pragmatic attitude.


You have demonstrated affinity or, even better, experience with at least one of the following expertise:

  1. Africa, emerging markets in general or to a lesser extent international business.
  2. Agriculture practice or technologies / Food trade and production.
  3. Impact investment, Sustainable Development Goals, Environmental, Social & Governance criteria.

And you are:

  • Interested in investments.
  • A good communicator both verbal and written.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills.
  • Native/ fluent in French is a pre.

What are you going to do:

In general you will assist the investment team on every aspect of the job:

  • Doing market research (food production, trade flows, tax regulation, etc.),
  • Building financial models (is the processing capacity of the factory calculated in the right way, what are the sales price assumptions, what is our return on investment),
  • Writing investment proposals (how do we structure the deal, who are our local partners),
  • Monitoring our investments both on impact and financially.
