Commercial Manager – London – Infrastructure

The role.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Commercial Manager to provide robust commercial management of enabling works contracts for the LTC project, specifically land and marine-based ground investigations, utility diversions and ecological habitat works.

This will include ownership of the forecast spends to ensure they are sustained (in line with agreed limits) through regular reviews to be carried out of the forecast budgets, implementation of robust change control to ensure value for money is being delivered and control/ valuation of payment applications in accordance with contractual requirements.

Equally, strong governance is provided in line with both project and internal management systems and the role will required the Enabling Works Commercial Manager to work within its requirements.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Understand and take stewardship of the allocated workstream budgets, forecasts and contractual positions for the LTC enabling works contracts.
  • exposure to the workings of NEC4 ECC and PSC contract and project change.
  • Provide commercial, budgetary and contractual guidance to work stream leads and relevant project managers. This will include assurance of tender documentation, assurance of tender reports and composition of contracts.
  • Assist in the development of the commercial strategy for the significant utility diversions enabling works.
  • Monitor, review and report financial and work scope periodically against workstream budgets in all areas of spend and budgetary provision for the LTC enabling works contracts.
  • Periodic valuation of contract works and administration of the incentivisation regimes in place within contracts.
  • Provide support to colleagues from other work streams to assure that budgets and forecasts are adhered to and any change or variance is managed through the project change control process.
  • To consider project legacy through the balanced scorecard and in all decision making in the same way as cost, risk and time.
  • To look for ways to encourage innovative thinking around how to improve legacy benefits.
  • To hold health, safety, security and welfare (HSSW) as a key project value and to participate in the creation, development and implementation of HSSW strategies by the project leadership team.
