Introduction

Do you have a vision on how our D&E organization should learn from data in order to improve the quality of our machines? Do you enjoy the challenge of defining the data architecture, reports and machine learning techniques to make this learning loop more effective? Do you have good analytical capabilities, combined with excellent communication skills?

If so, then we can offer you an attractive position as senior architect for the Feedback Loop program in our group. A great opportunity for your professional and personal growth!

Job Mission

As ASML grows and the complexity of our machines increases, it is of vital importance to close the feedback loop from quality and performance data coming from field, factory and supplier to the D&E groups and learning from it. Within our CSI department we started the Feedback Loop program to setup the data infrastructure, reporting tools, process, organization and support in order to make this possible and sustain it. A Spotfire visualization tool (Eagle) was build to show the data in a transparent overview, and enable users to analyze common issues and prevent reoccurrences.

We are now looking for a senior architect to further define the technical roadmap of this program, together with a team of data analysts and software engineers.

Job Description

As a Sr. Architect Data and Reporting you will drive the Feedback Loop program with a roadmap on all technical improvements that are required by the Feedback Loop users. They need to have real-time access to detailed quality and performance data from field, factory and suppliers and link them to the ASML business drivers like Availability, Cycle Time, Cost and Performance. This enables them to efficiently analyze, understand and improve their modules and make lithography happen against the ever demanding specs and business drivers. You will be a key player in the program by collecting these requirements, investigating the feasibility in the IT data landscape and decomposing them into work packages that can be implemented by the AIS software team. Moreover, you will investigate how cutting-edge data techniques like machine learning can be applied to make the learning loop more efficient. In order to accomplish this, you will provide guidance to a multi-disciplinary team consisting of data analysts, data scientists, software architects and software engineers.

On top of your profound technical capabilities, your success will strongly dependent on your interpersonal skills and your ability to communicate across disciplines.

As Sr. Architect in the Feedback Loop program you are responsible to:

• Contribute to the Feedback Loop roadmap: you generate technical solutions that enable user groups to have real-time access to all underlying data they need to run their feedback loop.

• Collect and verifying requirements from user groups and stakeholders on short-term and long-term improvements needed on data architecture and reports.

• Translate user requirements into functional requirements toward the AIS software team.

• Link quality and performance data to ASML business drivers like Availability, Cycle Time, Cost and Performance.

• Identify opportunities to use advanced analystic techniques like machine learning.

• Work closely together with data analysts and software architects and software engineers, and drive consensus for technical decisions.

• Interface with other projects and initiatives to guard the technical interfaces.

• Communicate and do stakeholder management, by presenting technical details in a comprehendible way to team and stakeholders.

Education

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related

Experience

• Good track record with >3 years of hands-on experience

• Solid knowledge of ASML system and processes

• Strong affinity with data sources and reporting systems needed

• Shown technical leadership within projects

• Experience with breaking down the challenge into work items and supervise progress

• Experience with providing guidance to (jr.) data analysts and/or software engineers

• Experience with Scrum/Agile way of working

Personal skills

• Visionary leader and good analytical skills

• Both “helicopter view” and eye for detail

• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, being able to convince across disciplines and management layers

• Strong organizational, interpersonal and team building skills

• Self-propelling and entrepreneurial attitude

• Structured work approach, pragmatic where needed

• Thinks creative, out of the box

Context of the position

• Within Development & Engineering, the Cross-Sector Structural Improvement (CSI) department delivers and advances state-of-the-art methods and techniques for the structural improvement of the performance and quality of scanner components.

• The holder of this position reports to the CSI Analytics group manager and Feedback Loop program manager.
