AKD Benelux lawyers is looking for an enthusiastic professional to join our Marketing & Business Development team. The Awards & Rankings Adviser will lead our firm’s initiatives in connection with legal directories, awards, nominations, surveys and listings published by national and international legal directories such as Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, IFLR, and publications such as The Lawyer and the Financial Times’s series of Innovative Lawyers special reports. 

The Awards & Rankings Adviser will report to the Manager Marketing & Business Development Manager and is responsible for strategising, planning, executing and monitoring all awards and rankings opportunities to promote our firm's practice areas, lawyers, civil-notaries and tax advisers in line with AKD's strategy. The ideal candidate should have outstanding judgement, project management, problem-solving skills, writing, editing and grammar skills, as well as intellectual curiosity and the ability to distill complex topics into concise, easy-to-read language.

We expect you to execute projects from concept to completion. You will actively contribute ideas, and execute and expand upon existing organisational tools, processes, policies and procedures, all while providing superior services to our lawyers, and producing a quality product.

What exactly are you going to do?

• Develop and execute compelling submissions and nominations that communicate AKD's capabilities and initiatives with the objective of improving rankings and increasing visibility for our firm: in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

• Lead and improve the quality and standardisation of submissions. Develop and communicate best practices.

• Manage all editorial calendars and proactively anticipate upcoming opportunities. Track and prioritise AKD’s level of participation across opportunities. Evaluate new opportunities to make recommendations as to our firm’s appropriate level of participation.

• Analyse results, historical performance and year-on-year trends. Produce regular reports highlighting recent work and achievements.

• Create internal and external communications announcing major recognitions for our firm and our lawyers, in cooperation with our communications advisers.

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with editorial, research, business development staff and reporters at legal directories and media organisations.

• Serve as the contact person for all recognition-related questions from fee earners and staff.

• Manage all administrative tasks related to awards and recognitions, including budget, policies, procedures, templates and style guides.

• Assist with various other marketing communications initiatives as assigned.

Your Education, Work Experience and Skills

• A minimum of four years’ experience within the legal services sector; proven business development or marketing experience is desirable.

• A bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, marketing, economics or public relations is preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of research and editorial processes for legal directories and media organisations, as well as experience developing and producing persuasive submissions.

• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment, both independently and collaboratively, to meet competing deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain positive working relationships with AKD’s lawyers, staff, as well as external contacts.

• Must be flexible and able to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.

• A client service mindset.

Technologies/Software

• You must have a solid command of a number of different technology applications to produce a high-end and professional work product, including a solid command of the Microsoft Office Suite

The Awards & Rankings Adviser will be based at our Rotterdam office. Position for 32 - 40 hrs.
