For our Commercial team in our Diemen office, we’re looking for a Senior Sales Consultant.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced senior sales consultant who has a passion for the FMCG industry.The Sales & Marketing Effectiveness (SEFF & MEFF) team is focused on helping CPG companies and retailers to better understand how they can influence consumer purchase decisions. Via consultancy we give guidance to our clients how to optimize their strategy and tactics to obtain better results. If you like consultancy, to get in contact with clients and discuss their business challenges, and advise them to the right solutions that helps them to solve these challenges, the SEFF & MEFF department will bring you an exciting and fun environment to work in, and the opportunity to make a big impact to our clients’ business. We have a large set of clients among retailers and CPG companies, and in this role you have the opportunity to work with the most renowned brands in FMCG.Some examples of areas where the SEFF & MEFF team is focused on are:Understanding the impact that price changes have on volume sales; help clients to set the right consumer prices to optimize margins or volume/value sales via predictive analytics solutionsHow can clients optimize their promotional strategy? We provide an understanding where promotional volume is sourced from (i.e. split by store switch, brand switch, time switch, incremental sales, and subsidization) and give clients an understanding how they can optimize their promotionsOur clients need to understand how to optimize the assortment mix and shelf space allocation by making trade-offs between which products to prioritize, how to display these on the shelf, and validate if this makes sense from an operational point of view (i.e. doesn’t lead to for instance out of stocks)Nielsen is a leader in marketing mix modelling where we give clients an understanding how their media investments impact their business results, and how changes in the media mix will influence this.We help our clients measure the impact from consumer activations. What is the sales impact from for instance a display, point of sales material, or a different shelf location/lay-out.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Sales Consultant, you will:

Earning client trust and building relationships by delivering meaningful analysisUnderstanding the business needs of our client and applying solutionsLeveraging existing thought leadership built at Nielsen to set the scene when sharing a story with your dataAnalysing information and contributing to presentations with other team membersManaging sales by identifying opportunities and collaborating closely with the sales team to see that these are metUnderstanding our tools and systems as well as the Nielsen product portfolioWorking closely with all teams to ensure work is connected to meet client business issues.

Our new team member will have:

  • Bachelor degree;
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in an FMCG environment or equivalent (preferred);
  • Good awareness of understanding the needs of clients and meeting their needs
  • Good at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to analyse data and summarise into a story

Additional useful soft skills:

  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Eager to further develop presentation skills
  • A numerical confidence and able to translate numbers into insights and recommendations
  • Performs work accurately and effectively with attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a digitally enabled environment
