At HP, talent is our criteria. Join us in reinventing the standard for diversity and inclusion. Bring your awesomeness, and just be you!

HP's Internship program offer students on a four year degree program the opportunity to gain real world experience through a one year industrial placement. Working in a fast paced, professional setting provides interns with invaluable experience applying the knowledge and skills learned in school in a business environment. You will work along side and in support of a group of world-class professionals in your chosen field of study.

Within this internship you will be working as part of our Strategic Events Team. The role of an Events Intern involves supporting the team, with a focus on European and US events. You will be planning and executing events, liaising with external agencies to coordinate these events and carrying out the day to day admin tasks surrounding events.

Key Responsibilities:

• To support Strategic Events manager with the wide range of external events HP execute.

• To manage registration and meetings tools for events. Liaise with the relevant business units to confirm attendees.

• To liaise with our external agencies to plan and provide opinion on all events including venue options, layout and designs.

• Create and manage reports and event summaries outlining the events the Strategic Events team will be undertaking.

Education:

Potential interns must be in their 2nd year of a 4 year degree which requires (or has an option for) year 3 to be a yearlong industrial placement. An International Business, Marketing, Events Management or related degree discipline is preferable but not essential; however a target to achieve a 2.1 (based on first year's results and/or predicted second year's result) is required.

Experience/Skills:

• Basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft office and general use of office equipment is essential.

• Good communication skills are paramount and the ability to demonstrate some work experience or participation in meaningful extracurricular activities is required.

• A proactive, positive attitude with the ability to work either independently or as part of a cross functional team is a must.

• Accuracy, initiative and fluent English are required.

Specific Job Requirements:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as are team-working skills. The successful applicant will be working very closely with other team members and senior management in demanding schedules, being people orientated will be highly beneficial.

• Flexibility is required when working in a fast moving and demanding environment.

• Good project management and organizational skills.

Eligibility:

In addition to the above educational requirements, students must be eligible to work in the UK and be available to commence the placement at the beginning of July 2019 for 13 months.
