We are looking to recruit a motivated scientist with significant experience in the field of immuno-oncology (IO) or immunology. This role will report into the Director of New Product Development Pipeline and Project Management. Using your knowledge and experience you will ensure the quality of our IO product range. You will work closely with their Portfolio partners to help drive our IO strategy.

The job is based at our Cambridge (UK) site but the job holder will work closely with other stakeholders in other global locations.

Job responsibilities

  • R&D lead
  • Key contact person within Research and Development (R&D) for IO – maintain knowledge in this field by attending meetings, conferences and building networks.
  • Be part of a cross-department IO team (with key partners and stakeholders internally in our Portfolio teams and R&D teams) to develop product roadmap and strategy for IO.
  • Manage and establish projects as necessary to help drive the IO strategy and portfolio quality
  • Manage some collaborations as required for product development
  • Some travel to conferences may be required (international & national)
  • Set antibody quality standards for IO antibodies:-
  • Provide good quality product suggestions for the antibody pipeline
  • Ensure appropriate validation is provided for all IO antibodies.
  • Track and ensure the antibodies in the production pipeline meet quality criteria.
  • Assist in troubleshooting of antibodies

About You

Our ideal candidate will have extensive research experience in Life sciences and a strong background in the IO or immunology field, with a PhD in biological sciences (or equivalent experience) and ideally with postdoctoral experience. Previous experience within a commercial setting and / or project management experience would be an advantage, as will previous experience working with academic collaborators. Whilst the role does not entail laboratory work, significant experience with antibodies and the capacity to interpret and analyse scientific data is essential for the role. You will have hands on experience in using antibody validation techniques such as ChiP, western blots, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry or flow cytometry.

You will be highly organised, a strong team player and be comfortable working to deadlines and prioritising different aspects of your role. Additionally, you will be an effective communicator, comfortable building relationships within the team and across the business.

Advanced knowledge of using MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint would be advantageous as would previous project management experience.
